Quest Qualitly: Adventurous
Snow crunched beneath my skis as I glided across the icy plain. I inched forward, wind blowing in my face as I stared down the mountain, wondering what lay in the depths. I looked up into the dark grey sky and there was the signpost. It said easiest way down and hardest way down. I looked at the hardest way down and my heart lurched. The run was full of trees and bumps. I turned my view to the other run and saw it crowded with families, slowly making their way down. I wondered what I should do next and out of nowhere, my brother zoomed passed me and down onto the hard run. An urge to be there with him overwhelmed me. The snow started to fall harder and I knew it was now or never. I inched forward and stared down the vertical slope. Then, I jumped. My skis hit the snow and lunged forward. Tree’s whizzed by me. My heart was beating so fast I thought it would pop out of my chest. In a few minutes, I was at the bottom. I slid toward my brother and the chairlift. As I got on the chairlift, I watched the snow fall around me and I wondered what adventure I would go on next. Being adventurous is the most important quest quality on any mission, especially the mission to Mars. Everyone has a lust for adventure, something new. People are drawn to the unknown and that is why we are taking the journey to Mars. Adventure is one thing that all humans crave and without it, we would go nowhere. We would still be living in caves, wasting our potential. Mars is something important and adventure is what fuels us to take risks, expand our minds, and make us go further.

Quest Quality: Fearlessness
From the last box being packed to saying goodbye to the house that has held so many fun memories. Will I like the new house that we are moving into? What will it be like to move to a place where there are no changes in seasons. What will my new school be like? Will I find new friends who are kind?. Excitement rushing through my veins. But still feeling a little anxious. A new place to call home and a new place to make friends. My ten-year-old self wondering what was going to happen next as leaving the town that I had grown up in.
Fearlessness is a key quality that one would face if they were going to venture to Mars. Having the desire and confidence to let go and to try something new knowing that it could be dangerous. Having to take risks and put fear behind them, thats is why I think that Fearlessness is a key trait that one would encounter while going to Mars.

Quest Quality: Perserverence
As I stepped off the cold icy chairlift, I didn't think it could get much worse the wind had already pierced by jacket and face mask. The visibility was so bad I almost ran into someone I didn't think I could keep going. As we gradually started descending the mountain, the snowfall was so dense the trees became a green and white blurry fuzz as we increasingly speeded up the wind began to send a cold shock up my spine, but the only way down was to finish the trail I had to keep going. I could hear the snow crunching beneath myself, and I could feel myself slipping, but I had to keep going.
It was my perseverance that kept me going and is essential to any quest without persistence our trip won't be possible no matter how much preparation we put into this there will always be surprises which is why perseverance will be vital to a successful trip.

Quest Quality: Precison
I was racking my brain, trying to think of the perfect word for a poetry assignment. My perfectionism would not allow me to just use the insufficient word that thesaurus.com came up with. My desire to find the exact word to use in any situation is almost problematic. I find myself compelled to use the most accurate and precise word I can discover for any written or spoken communication. I appreciate the way my brain works because it allows me to continue striving for better and not settling with barely adequate. When we journey to Mars, my precision will help us to keep track of all those little details when it comes to interplanetary communication.

Quest Quality: Curiosity
My dad, sister and I had decided to go snorkeling on our trip to Hawaii, and at first, I didn’t really want to go. But as we neared the harbor I began to grow curious about what kinds of sea life I would see. I had decided that I would at least try going snorkeling and see if I liked it. We walked onto the cold boat, swaying back and forth, and sat down. As the boat began to leave the dock and pick up speed I decided to go stand on the side of the boat to see the ocean. The boat had reached top speed and was gliding along the waves, I felt the cool ocean breeze against my face and the spray of the ocean on my hands. The boat began to slow down to a stop at our destination and I grew even more curious. I went to back to where My dad and sister were sitting and put on my wetsuit, fins, and snorkel. We then slowly climbed into the cool water and began to swim. I saw so many beautiful fish that day and it was one of the most fun experiences I have ever experienced. Curiosity is important on Mars because we may miss something important if we aren’t curious. I might have skipped one of the best experiences of my life if I wasn't curious.

Quest Quality: Persistence
During Christmas some years ago, nine-year-old me got an origami book that was way too hard for someone of my age to do anything in. After looking at all of the wonderous origami the book offered, I picked one of the easiest things, a king cobra, to make immediately in my excitement. Taking a piece of yellow paper, I started off on making what I wouldn’t know would be the hardest to fold piece of paper in my life, spending almost an hour trying to complete the advanced folds on it. Being young and annoyed at my little progress I had started to cry and was very exasperated at the fact that the paper wasn’t a snake but I kept going. While bawling my eyes out, I finally picked up the way of folding that enabled me to make the cobra’s mantle completing my origami excursion; causing me to feel immensely proud. After that, my parents told me that if they were me, they would’ve quit in making the paper the right fold and I kept going even though they thought that it would be hard for me to complete it.
When people reach Mars, they need to be able to carry on even if there’s a problem that may cause the whole project to fail. Prospects such as intelligence are important, yes, but if you don’t have the drive and persistence to overcome the problems you’ll never be able to use and test your intelligence in the first place.

Quest Quality: Hope
When I was younger I had a rough time getting through things like math or social studies, and I had many ways to help with it but not many worked I tried asking for help but no one got the help I needed. I tried tutoring but nothing really stuck to my head. It was like trying to swallow a pill with no water, annoying at the start and pleasing at the end. But I learned things about myself and one of those things was believing in myself. Giving yourself self-confidence helps a lot. I got that self-confidence from the hope my parents gave me. It makes you feel empowered and gives you the choice on what you to do. How does this tie into hope? Well I read from a book “Strength comes from Hope and Hope comes from Fear, so if we all have hope we can get anything done”. Hope is important for our mission because it gives us a kick of adrenalin, the feeling of the last stretch of a race, the determination to move on. That's why hope is so important on our mission to Mars.
